A dark countertop can bring depth, contrast, and character to a kitchen. Whether paired with natural wood or bright white cabinetry, Black Lava by Formica offers a starting point for a space that feels personal and thoughtfully coordinated. At Delorie Countertops & Doors in Pompano Beach, we help homeowners, designers, and contractors explore laminate countertop options that complement their cabinetry, lifestyle, and renovation goals.

Choosing new countertops is one of the most exciting parts of a kitchen or bathroom renovation. The right surface can completely change the look of a room while also improving how the space functions every day. But with different materials, colors, finishes, edge profiles and installation options available, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming. The good news? You don't need to have every detail figured out before visiting a countertop showroom. A little preparat

For years, white, gray and cool neutral kitchens dominated interior design. Now, warmer tones are taking center stage. Brown is returning to the kitchen, but today's interpretation is far removed from the heavy, traditional brown kitchens of the past. From soft taupe and warm walnut to chocolate, mocha and deep espresso, brown creates interiors that feel grounded, sophisticated and inviting. Combined with contemporary cabinetry, dramatic countertops and carefully selected fi

Some kitchen designs follow trends. Others are designed to look beautiful for decades. For this Delorie project, the goal was to create a classic, timeless interior by combining crisp white cabinetry, warm natural wood, and traditional Shaker-style doors throughout the kitchen and dining room. The Timeless Appeal of Shaker Cabinets Shaker cabinets remain one of the most versatile choices for kitchen design. Their simple recessed-panel doors offer just enough architectural

What Is a Waterfall Countertop? A waterfall countertop continues vertically down one or both sides of the island, creating the appearance of the surface flowing toward the floor. This seamless detail highlights the beauty of the material and gives the island a clean, luxurious finish. In this kitchen, the striking veining travels across the expansive countertop and down both sides of the island. The result is a dramatic frame that contrasts beautifully with the dark cabinet

A beautiful kitchen is shaped by more than its cabinetry and countertops. The smallest design elements often have the greatest visual impact. Chrome inserts can add definition, reflection, and a distinctive custom finish to an otherwise simple kitchen. In this bright white space, polished chrome accents are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the cabinetry and island. The result is sophisticated and cohesive without overwhelming the clean, modern design.

As our homes continue to support more activities, every square foot matters. A thoughtfully designed office nook can provide a practical place to work, organize paperwork, plan meals, or help children with homework—without requiring a separate room. When incorporated into custom kitchen cabinetry, a small workspace can feel like an intentional part of the overall design rather than an afterthought.

Today’s homes are designed for more than just everyday living—they’re places to gather, entertain, celebrate, and spend time together. When the kitchen, dining room, and bar are located within the same open-concept space, creating a consistent design between all three areas can completely transform the home. At Delorie Countertops & Doors, we love designing spaces that feel connected while still giving each area its own personality and purpose.

The kitchen has always been one of the most social spaces in the home. But when entertaining is an important part of your lifestyle, adding a dedicated bar area alongside the kitchen can take both functionality and design to another level. Instead of asking one space to do everything, a kitchen and bar combination creates two distinct areas that work beautifully together—giving guests more room to gather while keeping cooking, serving, and entertaining organized.

Modern kitchens are often defined by clean lines, bright finishes, and simple color palettes. But adding warm wood details can completely change the atmosphere, bringing natural beauty, texture, and character to the space. In this kitchen, crisp white cabinetry and elegant quartz countertops create a fresh foundation, while strategically placed wood accents make the design feel warmer and more inviting.

When designing a dream kitchen, every detail matters. Cabinetry, lighting, appliances, and finishes all work together to create a beautiful space—but sometimes, one feature becomes the true centerpiece. In this stunning kitchen, that feature is the backlit solid surface countertop. More than just a work surface, this illuminated island transforms the entire room. The soft glow highlights the beauty of the solid surface material while adding warmth, sophistication, and a lu
